Dive into the excitement of our hackathon's dynamic stages:

STAGES

1/ Pre-hackathon

A Discord server will be established for seamless communication among participants and team collaboration.

As the registration wraps up, teams are challenged to submit their business case two weeks before the hackathon kicks off. This not only gives the judges an early glimpse into the project but also empowers teams to refine their ideas, setting the stage for an organized and impactful development phase during the hackathon!

Finally, there will be a selection process for the Hackathon participants based on the volume of student registrations.

Get ready for a weekend full of innovation! The hackathon commences at 6 p.m. on Friday, concluding at 12 p.m. After that, the thrilling pitch phase in front of the judges starts at 1 p.m., running until the grand awards ceremony later in the evening. Teams will have an exhilarating 40 hours to craft a top-notch Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and deliver a compelling pitch. Let the collaborative magic happen as participants are grouped in designated rooms to optimize collaboration!

Teams will receive continuous support from ecosystem coaches, each wielding expertise in diverse domains such as code, blockchain, metaverse, fundraising, UX design, and pitching throughout the hackathon. The goal is clear: empower teams with comprehensive assistance, paving the way for success within the designated time and optimal conditions. As the weekend unfolds, workshops will be conducted to guide groups in polishing their presentations for the jury. Adding to the thrill, a team of Tezos developers will be on hand throughout the weekend, providing invaluable assistance with technical aspects and code.

As the competition heats up in the pitching phase, teams will be divided into two groups, each presenting in front of unique judging panels. The suspense builds as the top three teams from each group—six in total—advance to the final round. Here, they'll pitch before the entire judging panel and a captivated audience. The anticipation peaks as the judges deliberate, revealing the three victorious teams who will claim the coveted financial prizes. But that's not all! Five additional teams will also be celebrated with supplementary prizes.

2/ Hackathon

  • The project's viability, business model, and the synergy among team members.

  • The quality of the pitch, encompassing oral presentation and deck, along with the proficiency in responding to questions.

  • The technical dimension of the project, delving into code intricacies, features, and the overall user interface/experience. It's not just about the idea; it's about how well you bring it to life!

Judges Scoring criteria

To evaluate the projects, the judging panel will consider several factors:

  • A final-day presentation to the judges, unveiling the vision and commitments of the MVP.

  • A presentation aid featuring the executive summary and the business model.

  • An immersive demonstration of the user journey.

  • The source code for their MVP.

Expected deliverable

Throughout the hackathon, teams are required to produce specific deliverables:

Beyond the hackathon glory, the winning teams will have the opportunity to propel their project forward, unlocking Tezos grants and securing an additional financial prize.

3/ Post-hackathon

Sponsors of the hackathon

The hackathon runs from 8pm on Friday evening to 12 noon on Sunday. From 1pm, the pitch phase in front of the juries begins, until the prize-giving ceremony during the evening. Teams will have 40 hours to create an MVP for their project and a pitch. Participants will be grouped together in rooms so that they can work together.

Throughout the hackathon, the teams will be supported and assisted by coaches from the ecosystem, specialising in different areas: code, blockchain, metavers, NFT, fundraising, UX design, pitching, etc. The aim is to give the teams all the support they need to succeed in the time available and under the best possible conditions.  In addition, workshops will be held over the weekend to help the groups prepare their presentation to the jury. Finally, a team of Tezos developers will be on hand throughout the weekend to help the teams with the technical aspects and the code.

For the pitch phase, the teams will be divided into 2 groups in front of 2 different juries. The 3 best teams from the two groups (i.e. 6 teams) will compete in the final in front of the full jury and an audience. At the end of the jury's deliberations, 3 teams will be declared winners and will receive the first 3 financial prizes. A further 5 teams will receive additional prizes.
